Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SV China LE

Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce China Limited Edition
Limited to only ten cars worldwide, the special edition Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce is designed and manufactured exclusively for China’s most discriminating super sports car enthusiasts. An orange stripe, symbolising the strength of an erupting volcano, decorates the flat grey painted carbon shell of the Murciélago. Every model holds a numeration badge with the name of its owner.
The Lamborghini Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce is one of the most fascinating super sports cars of all times. The exceptionally purist and even more extreme top model – the Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce – is even more powerful, lighter and faster than the Murciélago LP 640. With the output of the 6.5 liter V12 increased to 670 hp and a weight reduction of 100 kg (220 lbs), the Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce boasts a power-to- weight ratio of 2.3 kg (5.1 lbs) per hp. It vaults itself from zero to 100 km/h in just 3,2 seconds and hits top speed at 342 km/h.
With its outstanding performance, razor-sharp precision and exceptional high-speed stability, the Lamborghini Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce is the ultimate performance car for advanced sports car drivers. In order to achieve the substantial weight reduction of 100 kilograms (220 lbs), the Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce was extensively reworked and redeveloped in virtually every aspect – from chassis to engine and transmission, right through to the interior. The increase in engine output from 640 to 670 hp is the result of optimized valve timing and a reworked intake system. The significantly modified aerodynamics with substantially increased downforce brings considerable improvement to vehicle stability at very high speeds. The large “Aeropack Wing” and its added downforce give a top speed of 337 km/h (209 mph).

Video: Ferrari Pilota Corse with 458 Italia
A buddy (its him at the wheel) recently attended a couple of days driving the 458 Italia at Fiorano. He really likes the car, but will stick to his Manthey-modified 997 GT2 for the moment.

MTM Audi R8 GT3-2
So, MTM is all set with a Audi R8 converted to 2-wheeldrive. And more power of course. Read all about it in the press release:
------------

MTM R8 GT3-2 undertakes a new driving experience behind the Audi steering wheel
560 HP (412 kW), 580 Nm, 3.9 seconds, Vmax 317 km/h
The questions are legitimate and short: A Street-legal Audi R8 with rear wheel drive? And with a 560 HP supercharged engine? The answer is also short. Yes it exists! At MTM! The snow is hardly gone from Germany’s streets that the noble tuner from Wettstetten is announcing their latest project: the MTM R8 GT3-2, with the last digit standing for the number of powered wheels. The car that has 560 supercharged HP, accelerates from 0 to 100 under 4 seconds and goes easily beyond the 300 km/h barrier is no “Quattro” but a modified R8 with rear wheel drive from the Audi refiner MTM. This new concept promises a complete new driving experience behind the Audi steering wheel and pure driving pleasure, which comes up with a lot of technical details and finesse and creates a perfect and exceptional sportscar.
The most exciting fact about the MTM R8 GT3-2 is definitely the rear wheel drive concept. It was developed by the technical specialists around Roland Mayer. With differential lock and new adjustments, the GT3-2 floats presently with its driving concept as the only one RWD Street-legal Audi, in the footsteps of the Audi high powered cars that are challenging the DTM or the GT Series. Those who are searching for an “Ingolstädter” with four rings and rear wheel drive have to look back more than four decades ago.
MTM from Wettstetten/Ingolstadt would not be one of the leading Audi-refiners in the world if they didn’t care for technical details in order to provide maximum driving dynamics. The first thing to be mentioned is the supercharged 4.2 FSI engine, producing 560 HP (412 kW) at 7.750 RPM and a torque of 580 Nm at 5.500 RPM. Enough power to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and take the speedometer! needle up to 317 km/h. The sound goes together with the power, thanks to a special exhaust system in export version – without rear pipes and without throttle valves. Unmistakable.

So much power needs a MTM suspension kit, which has several settings options, also in the built-in condition, and which is well adjusted with the lightweight and solid MTM forged wheels on Dunlop Sport Maxx GT / Michelin Cup Sport tyres. The 20” rims in the size 9x20 ET 42 (front axle) and 12,5x20 ET 60 (rear axle) shelter the 380 x 34 mm – punched, ventilated - MTM brake system.
With the R8 GT3-2, MTM has also worked on the exterior appearance, which is very particular for the technical specialists from Wettstetten, who usually only make slight optical changes on their sports cars. In this case, the carbon fibre front spoiler, side skirt and rear wing ensure a better air flow.
This MTM offer not only refers to new cars – also people ! who already own a R8 have the possibility to convert it into a R8 GT3-2.

Tested: The new Jaguar XJ

Spent two days around Paris in two versions of the new XJ, the 3-litre diesel (long wheelbase) and the new topmodel Supersport (short wheelbase) with the supercharged V8. The diesel is a strong performer, but compared to the Supersport with the 510 HP version of the V8, the result is quite predictable. The full report will be in Motor, out on Saturday the 17 April.

Novitec Rosso Ferrari California compressor
In the end of 2009, Novitec Rosso launched their version of the Ferrari California with a modest upgrade for the engine. Now they have readied a seriously more beefed up version with compressor.
From the press release:
------------------
The new supercharged engine represents an increase in power output for the 4.3-liter V8 from standard 460 hp to 606 hp / 446 kW. Powered by this engine the 2+2-seater car sprints from 0 - 100 km/h in under 3.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 325 km/h. Custom-tailored NOVITEC ROSSO wheels with diameters of 21 and 22 inches, a sporty aerodynamic-enhancement kit and exclusive interior options add further striking highlights.

The NOVITEC ROSSO specialists fit the eight-cylinder four-valve engine of the California with a mechanical charger driven by the crankshaft via a cogged belt. Boost pressure is limited to 0.4 bars.
The system also includes a water-to-air intercooler, a custom intake manifold and larger injectors. On the exhaust side the car is equipped with a NOVITEC ROSSO stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with sport catalysts. An integrated flap mechanism activated by a small switch on the steering wheel called the ‘manettino’ controls the intensity of the exhaust note.
Precision-calibrated mapping for the engine electronics ensure optimal power yield, perfect reliability and compliance with strict Euro IV exhaust emission limits.
The NOVITEC ROSSO compressor conversion bumps power output of the ragtop GT from standard 460 hp / 338 kW to 606 hp / 446 kW at 7,900 rpm. Simultaneously peak torque grows from 485 Nm to 603 Nm at 5,500 rpm.
The car’s performance speaks volumes: Acceleration from rest to 100 km/h takes less than 3.8 seconds; top speed increases to 325 km/h.
In addition to more power NOVITEC ROSSO also offers exclusive upgrades for body, suspension and the interior. The body of the California is dressed up in a sporty yet elegant designer suit which is also available in a version made from Carbon.
