Amerikansk villbass

Introduction of the edo MC12 Corsa

Sport suspension with nose lift function
Specially designed high-flow exhaust system
New high-performance brake system
New tire & wheel package
Road-legal

During last year’s FIA GT championship Maserati drove their competitors into the ground with the MC12 GT1 (which already spawned the MC12). On the occasion of the overall victory, Maserati introduced the limited edition (12 units) MC12 Corsa.

The Über-Maserati weighs nearly 400 kg (880 lbs) less than the base MC12 (1,150 instead of 1,531 kg [2530 lbs instead of 3368 lbs]). This corresponds to a power-to-weight ratio of 1.5 kg / hp (3.36 lb / hp). With 755 hp and 740 Nm (546 ft-lb) of torque, the Corsa will run circles around the regular MC12 (632 hp).

edo competition does not shy away from extreme sports cars such as this one; instead it gives them finishing touches! Consequently a special suspension system developed by edo competition and manufactured by KW was fitted. The independently adjustable compression and rebound damping permits truly individual suspension setups. The unique system, with its three different adjustments, allows for low-speed compression damping characteristics to be altered while the high-speed settings, having a strong influence on ride-quality, remain constant. True racing technology for the road! Additionally the nose lift function available on the regular MC12 is carried over to avoid front and underbody damage.

Engine-wise, edo competition leaves the 755 hp–strong MC12 Corsa untouched. However, the 6.0-liter V12 now announces its power through a newly developed edo competition high-flow exhaust system – and it does so with a soundtrack guaranteed to induce goose bumps! The sports exhaust system with electronically controlled butterfly valves provides visual cues to the MC12 Corsa’s power thanks to dual exhaust tips, each with a diameter of 100 mm (4 in). edo competition put a strong emphasis on quality during its construction. The muffler and exhaust tips are made from durable V2A stainless steel. And, not to be overlooked: a remote control to adjust the sound intensity has been installed!

For better cold braking properties during road use, edo competition employed a ceramic composite high-performance brake system with 396 mm (15.6 in) rotors in the front and 360 mm (14.2 in) rotors in the rear along with special brake pads at both ends.

edo competition had newly developed forged wheels (in black) custom made for the edo MC12 Corsa. On the front axle they’re of size 10 J x 19 and on the rear axle of size 13 J x 20. The wheels employed by edo competition are shod with 265/35 ZR19 (front) and 335/30 ZR20 (rear) tires.

An official approval for road service is in preparation so that this unique edo MC12 can also be admired outside of the race track.

Her fra pressemeldingen:

The New 8-piston High Performance Brake System from AC Schnitzer
It's not only sheer power which gives a car superlative performance, but also the braking system.
What initially seems like a paradox makes sense: Racing drivers know that the better the braking
system, the later they can leave braking before the corner and keep the speed at the limit for as
long as possible. Drivers of high power cars also have a high social responsibility. A powerful
braking system allows a car, even driven at high speed, to be brought to a stop quickly, effectively
and safely. To do this it must apply many times the car's engine power.
To achieve a clear improvement in braking performance of the current 3, 5 and 6-series, the High
Performance System from AC Schnitzer in Aachen uses an 8-piston fixed caliper. The pistons
press the pads into the discs and therefore form the decisive interface in brake force transfer,
which is particularly effective here. A further advantage is the more even distribution of force over
the friction surface. The design of the system with its one-piece cast fixed calipers is perfectly
suited to very high forces with minimum distortion. So AC Schnitzer with its 374 x 36 millimetre
brake discs has decisively improved braking performance. But even when the vehicle has
stopped, the generous brakes serve a purpose: the attractive design of the powerful calipers with
the AC Schnitzer logo finally enhances the visual appearance.

ABT med pulver for S3

Den tyske tuneren ABT som nærmest er å betrakte som "hus-tuner" for Audi, slipper løs S3 med 310 hestekrefter.

--------

Her er pressemeldingen:

Abt S3 – compact in his fastest form

Purely dynamic is the fastest member of the A3 family. The performance data of the serial model already convinces. But when Abt Sportsline modifies the S3, it results in a premium sports car which is suited perfectly for the daily use but also shows distinctive racing genes.

After the power treatment by the famous specialist for vehicles of the Volkswagen group, the 2.0 TFSI engine in the Abt S3 achieves 310 hp (228 kW) and overpowers his colleague from Ingolstadt by 45 hp (33kW). The quick Abt is distinctively more dynamic: 420 Newton meters of torque (the series model has 350 Newton meters) are pushing the driver deeply into the seat. The Abt S3 accelerates in 5.4 seconds from zero to 100 km/h and reaches a maximum speed from 258 km/h. For the sportive ambition of the driver the 45 additional horses are an inexpensive but worthwhile purchase.

Moreover the Abt suspension being adjusted by DTM race driver Christian Abt provides a perfect handling of the compact sports car. The Abt exhaust system gives the rear of the S3 a powerful and impressive look – and is responsible for the typical sound, which you demand from an Abt sports car. The icing on the cake for the complete appearance of the power package are the Abt AR wheels in 19 inch.

The Abt S3 has the power to become top of the class – he is simply better. Anybody looking for a car providing sportiness and driving pleasure combined in a compact size is getting the maximum with the Abt S3.
